Old Bastard

I'm now officially an old bastard. 26 at the weekend and it went off pretty well, I went out with a couple of mates in blackpool, got pissed and woke up the next day to go and watch the footy, so pretty much top quality for me!

And now for the big news..

I've officially stopped smoking weed! its been 4 weeks as of today and my bank balance feels much healthier. So for all those that claim its addictive, I say Bollox, after smoking a 20 bag of bud a day for the last 13 years (yes i started very early actually 15 years ago but not as heavy as the last 13) I just quit, stopped dead, no medicines, no withdrawal, no cold turkey, the only thing i had was a couple of sleepless nights, which i had anyway!

I've finally started my driving and hope to have passed by May, although the instructor told me to go for it in March as thats the earliest date avaialble for a test, problem being that I cant book a test until the theory is done, Theory wont be done till the end of Feb so the earliest I can hope for will be April sometime. Still my target was May so I'll be happy so long as I hit that. The streets of Manchester will never be safe again!

Aside from this, watch the news, its got more to say than me!

Big news in 2008

Thats right fellow internetonians, I have some big news, big news to me and possibly a few others who know me / read this blog regular, and guess what, I aint disclosing it for another 3 weeks or so. You'll just have to wait and see!

I'm due to be an old bar-steward this month, hitting 26 years old with the site hitting 6 years old next month! I'm actually quite suprised that we're both still going, I would have thought at least one of us would have bitten the dust by now, but alas neither one has :o). So for me its a nice new set of darts, and for the site, well we'll have to see if I can be arsed doing anything new this year.

In almost 26 years on earth I have only a few regrets in life, with the biggest being the lack of a drivers license - which WILL be rectified before May (well thats the plan). I can honestly say that my life has been filled with truly wonderful people, friends and family alike, I don't think I would change a single thing (besides the driving). There are a few things missing right now, like a good woman, an abundance of cash and a 15 inch penis promised by all them emails, but to be fair running my own business means I work too much for most women to accept, working on my business will bring the abundance of cash which in turn will free up more time to go out and meet a good woman and I'm quite happy with the size I gots thank you very much!!

All in all I'm hoping for 2008 to be a great year for me, and it has started pretty well already (yes only 7 days in, but its going well nontheless) I have 3 big new contracts in the pipeline and 2 of them are done deals, the third should be tied up before the month is out. I know I shouldnt blog about work, but no-one really knows what I do, so its OK to blog about this :o).

Anyhows - Happy 2008, have a good one and check all the linkages out.

Happy Belated and Merry Early

Happy christmas and merry new year people. I've had an absolutley fantastically positivley *Insert Word* time.

Many Dankas to my secret santa this year, I'll be sure to post the details of all the experiments tried, so long as they dont kill me! and I'll try and beat my record of 2 chin ups :o) My gifts are on the way, but one of may take over a month to arrive, but it will arrive!

Asides from all that, stay happy, have a good new year, and I'll see you on t'other side.

Whats this? a blog post, surely not!

Whoa, I have a blog, not that you'd have noticed over the last few months. Life in general has been good, a few setbacks, like smashing a clients laptop screen, lack of money etc, but we gets by!

Aside from having nothing of substance to add recently due to my dull and boring life, I've just not had the mental stimulation to post anything, this post was hard enough, due to the electric going off during the first draft! bastard electric, almost as bad as the bastard gas and the bastard rent, just all bastard bills in general.

I joined facebook, and unfortunatly found it slightly addictive, the fact that you can play poker is always a bonus but it lets me keep in touch with friends and get back in contact with a few old mates. so all in all, not a bad thing to do. I have to stress I'm not a fan of social networking sites in general so please dont try and suggest i use xxx.com or yyy.com, cos im just not interested..

And while the elevation factor was truely wonderful, I bid thee farewell - Check the linkages!

Over-rated and Under-delivered

The Simpsons Movie - has to be the most anticipated yet disappointing movie I can think of. I watched it a few days after its release, after being told that it was "Excellent", "Great", "Brilliant" and a whole host of other things. Well it wasn't, it was a big fat disappointment to me.

Now most people may disagree, but a 30 minute episode of the Simpsons can have e in stitches for 28 minutes, this 90 minute plus offering had me laughing for about 6 minutes in total.

Yes there is a bit of originality with the plot itself, but also a lot of re-hashed ideas from both previous episodes and other shows.

I was really looking forward to this movie for years, something different, not the usual killing spree, satanic monster or biblical do-gooder, but in the end, its the same as the rest - the 3 trailers I've seen show all but 2 of the best parts of the movie.

But thats just me - maybe you'll enjoy it.

Proud to be a virgin

It's true. I'm a Virgin Media customer, and as of today a damned happy one.

Last month they upped my top broadband speed to 20Mbps (yes they all measure it in bits and not bytes, then try to fool you into thinking otherwise) at no extra cost, which was nice.

But today they outdid themselves, they now have the rights to Setanta Sports (all 6 channels) and I get it free seen as I have the XL pack, its not a one time offer, its not a limited thing, its there period, with 46 exclusive premiership matches), and sky don't have a sniff of getting in on the act. And with the impending release of Setanta Sports News, they can shove Sky Sports News, and I can watch all the Simpsons online.

Finally. I'm proud to be a virgin.

Quick Thought

During a moment of inspirational yet nonsensical wisdom on my part, I will be removing the quick snips and replacing them with ...... something else, not sure what yet. I realised it takes longer to post a quick snip (Find content, assess its worth, laugh, or not, decide if I can be arsed, etc etc etc) than it would to compile a four thousand (4000) word essay on the wonders and delights of salt.

And so, it'll be removed as soon as I can think of something to replace it.

Shine on you crazy diamond

The title, doesn't really tell you anything apart from the track I'm currently listening to and my complete lack of imagination for a catchy post title.

I'm back as you can probably tell from the fact that you're here, reading this. The last few months have been pretty hectic but I've finally gotten most things back on track. When I say most things I dont actually mean most things, I really mean a few things and in regards to other things well they can wait until I'm good and ready.

So. Love, Life and Work, two out of three aint bad, yep, life and work are going well.

I has a new design, the main template is by Gordon Mac and available for free download from his site. I've edited most of the images, and parts of the layout. As well as started from scratch on a new system to run it all.

It generally works in the same way as the old system with a few additions and alterations. The comments system now loads into the same page as the post so no more pop up windows, and I've added a captcha image (I'm aware that the code sometimes appears too low down and I'm working to fix it, as well as allowing some form of syntax for formatting and links).

I've also gone down the popular route of tagging all my posts. Tags are in single word format and work much like a search function (which I will be adding soonish), clicking them takes you to a list of posts tagged under that keyword. Simple.

Quick snips on the right are clickable and should open to the source site. The links are ordered by popularity so the link with the most clicks will appear at the top and in order downwards. And 10 posts here before the archives start to fill up.

The rest is pretty much fool proof (I hope).

I'm planning on adding a few more things on here, and as I let the legalize site go (just didn't have the time) may create a subdomain with the essentials of what I want to get accross.

I'm thinking of categorising the articles and accepting user submissions. I'm not too sure as yet but its a thought in the pipeline. let me know what you think, categories and subjects of interest to you etc.

Thats about it for the time - You can go.

Talking Trojan Taunts Victims
Malware authors have developed a talking Trojan capable of taunting its victims even as it goes about its work trashing their PCs.

The BotVoice-A Trojan informs victims that their Windows PCs have been infected as it deletes files. The malware uses Windows text reader to play the following message:

You has been infected I repeat You has been infected and your system files has been deletes. Sorry. Have a Nice Day and bye bye.

The comments are continuously deleted as the Trojan attempts to delete the entire content of the computer's hard disk, according to an analysis of the malware by anti-virus firm Panda Software.
